The resort will come equip with a 400-room hotel and a indoor water park. There’s no precise location yet but Hepner said the company is currently in discussion with the Surrey Development Corporation and the municipal government.
If this project is approved, construction will costs $150 million and over 600 jobs will be generated. If completed, this water park will be Canada’s second largest Great Wolf Lodge Resort.
The largest park in Canada is the Great Wolf Lodge Resort in Niagara Falls which includes a 100,000 ft² indoor water park, 406 hotel rooms, 8 cafe and restaurant locations, mini-gold course, an arcade, a bowling alley, live entertainment spaces, spas and roaming costumed characters.
Great Wolf Lodge has 14 locations on both side of the border (not including the other 4 currently under construction). Currently, the closest Great Wolf Lodge to Vancouver is in Grand Mount, Washington State, which is about a two hour.
